When selling used cars is your business, good timing is essential - along with an evenly staggered launch schedule. Also the Mini is having problems in both departments: not enough fresh products, but a glut thereafter. The used Cooper is really good car, but the Cooper replacement is scheduled for 2012. This incidentally concludes the list of future Minis.

Last week a OOYYO spotted the used Mini One on a streets of the One, Italy – and over the weekend, e spotted the whole fleet of Mini group used cars. A busy day in the One. I saw the One get stuck in the traffic direct at the city square. Driving down the hill, a row of three Mini One models came driving upwards. One could wonder why they have chosen this day with thousands of people waiting for the start of the race two days later.
A publicity stunt perchance? Several commentators have already suggested as much in the comments on the Mini scoop. Or perhaps some Mini group engineers hanker after an alternative career as Lance Armstrong wannabes!

Cost is another issue which currently troubles the Mini. Mini, which has pegged the Cooper on the other car matrix, has again paired the next Cooper with the follow-up to the next series. Instead of pooling the third-generation, Mini has twinned its price-sensitive entry-level model with a rivals. Would it not have been wiser to devise a common components set for the oldest Cooper?
Of course, but now it's too late for last-minute revisions. In the third quarter of 2011, next model will roll off the line, followed by another version. And there might be more Ones to follow - Mini is currently evaluating no fewer than five two-door alternatives.
• a replacement for the classic hatchback Mini - a variant with a virtually neutral profit margin
• a three-door shooting brake Mini - originally conceived to counter
• a three-door Mini - which makes sense unless it cannibalizes touring
• a three- or five-door Mini - with controversial proportions and an exotic door concept
In view of the current budget constraints, it is very difficult to predict which variant is most likely to get the nod.

As we all know very well the sales of new Mini cars is going down and down these months. Such situation is of course caused by the economy crisis. But how is the used Mini cars market doing? Is it going to benefit now where the rest of the car industry (producers especially) is undergoing a major collapse? I guess the answer would be yes. The price reductions and the promotions will never be as attractive as the prize of a used Mini car, even if it's only one year old, yet still much better equipped that the promotional version. And here comes the question: how often do you change your car and what do you do to get rid of the old one? Do you sell it on a website or try to advertise it in a local press at the lowest possible cost? Or maybe you just park it on the street with the price displayed behind its front window? What is the best source to sell and buy used cars without being cheated on? Or shall I say it – what is the most credible source? Now car purchasing has become fun again which can't be said of car selling.
